A new marina is developing in the western Caribbean. Belize to be precise. To be even more precise.. 16 deg 47.02 N by 88 deg 18.475″W.
Sanctuary Belize is a new development just north of Placencia inside of Sapodilla Lagoon. We are a 14,000 acre land preserve where 4,000 acres have been set aside to build a first class facility and town site with approximately 1,500 residences. It is a New development and only a few houses are being built at this time. More are being started every month. That’s all well and good, and the place is awesome but what we really want to talk to you about is the new Marina Facility. After all, that is what we are all about, right?
Sanctuary Belize Marina Phase 1 is almost complete and we have flooded our 40 acre facility and have 65 slips available for all to come and enjoy. We are just finishing up the final touches and will be ready to accept vessels in December of 2012. Facilities are to include water and hydro, a fuel dock, provisioning, a restaurant/bar (opening soon), bathrooms and showers, laundry along with a full service chandlery and in the next year or so a 5 acre boat yard with a 120 ton lift. At this point we can facilitate most in water repairs mechanical and structural.
If you draw more than 2 feet, be SURE to stick to the entrance channel going in. It WILL be demarcated with proper aids. They are being built right now and will be deployed in the next couple of weeks. There is a guaranteed 10′ depth (dredged to 11.5 to be super sure) in the entrance canal and marina. The rest of the canals are dredged to 8′ for the waterfront homeowners. (yes, lots are available). As mentioned we are a brand new facility that is a work in progress. Stop by and let us know what you think so far and what YOU would like to see here. After all, the author is the liaison to the folks that are building everything here so your input is EXTREMELY important to us. Have a look for Stone Age when you come in and make sure you stop by and say hello. I know there’s a cold one waiting and some good times to be had. we look forward to your visit. 🙂
Are there any charter companies looking at this marina for a base of operations? Thanks.
