Eric Stone is Gonna Own A Bar?

An announcement from our good friendĀ Eric Stone:

I hope your day is going as great as mine! For the last few weeks, Kim and I have been doing our homework looking into purchasing an icon waterfront restaurant located on Boot Key Harbor in Marathon, Florida, the Heart of the Florida Keys. Negotiations are on the way to the attorneys, building inspectors and contractors being consulted and announcements being made. And Kim keeps reminding me to breathe! WOW! What a life changing event.Ā  Ever since I can remember, I have wanted my own venue to not only showcase my music, but other talented singer/songwriters as well. It was even suggested to me in college that I quit and do what I love after repeatedly being busted drawing up set designs for stages and venues during classes.

Dockside “Lounge” as it is now called has been an icon on Boot Key Harbor since the mid 1960’s and it has had it’s ups and downs like many businesses that operate in a seasonal location. Our vision for the new DOCKSIDE TROPICAL CAFE includes a tiki hut roof,Ā  new & additional dinghy docks, a tasteful blend of tiki and island themed decor, menu & drinks and of course, the best music in The Keys! We will also have a gift store HARLEY & MARLEY’S TREASURE CHEST which will be home to our 2 macaws (Harley & Marley) and offer clothing and gear that promote The Keys lifestyle, Dockside and of course Eric Stone Music and Pirate Yogis (Healthy Cruising).

Naturally with any undertaking of this size, there will be many ideas and many changes. We are extremely excited to be sharing this information with you and look forward to creating a new and even bigger Dockside community.Ā  There are going to be several ways in which you can support this grass root endeavor of ours, the first being to help spread the word by LIKING the Dockside Tropical Cafe Facebook page and FOLLOWING us on Twitter, by clicking the buttons below.

  1. We stayed in at the marina right around the corner from this old bar in October, 2010 and I wondered why no one had re-opened this place. It's a superfine location. I hope Eric has it going by the next time we are down there.

  2. Hey Eric and Kim.
Wishing you two nothing but the best!!!! Hope to see your new place in full swing soon. I wish it was closer to my dock and home, However, you can definitely count on me as an irregular regular.
    GOOD LUCK!
