Massachusetts Region 2.1 Chart Set Now Available from nv‐charts

Newport, Rhode Island, USA – Sailing cruisers and power boaters heading to Maine this summer, or to explore the many historic islands of Boston harbor, now have a new Eastern Massachusetts regional charting set from nvcharts, a global leader in highly accurate, detailed maritime chart products.

Region 2.1, Maine South and Massachusetts, covers the coast from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, typically the unofficial southernmost extremity of the Maine cruising grounds (covered in nv‐charts’ Region 1.1) all the way to Massachusetts Bay and the inner arm of Cape Cod, from Provincetown, at the tip, to include PlymouthHarbor and everything in‐between. Region 2.1 provides detailed cartography for Boston harbor, the harbor islands, and approaches; treacherous Cape Ann; Gloucester harbor; the Merrimack River entrance, as well as the entrance to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and the PiscataquaRiver; Kennebunkport; and much more.

The chart set is provided in paper and digital format for sailors, motor boaters, fishermen and professional mariners, and cruising enthusiasts. Region 2.1 includes 3 passage charts, plus 60 coastal charts and detailed areas (harbors and anchorages) all in a manageable set that is designed to fit neatly on a chart table and includes a CD with all the charts in digital format. The set is also available on SD memory card for chartplotters.

nvcharts’ chart sets also include plotted waypoints, more distinctive shore and shallows cartography, aids to navigation and light characteristics, tidal information, and features four helpful pages in the back outlining symbols, legends, and other data that help the navigator interpret the information in the chart. The cartography is visually distinct; unique color differences make specific depths, shoals, reefs, exposed tidal areas stand out for quick, easy recognition.
