Newport, RI – September 19, 2015

The weather couldn’t have been better for the Cruising Outpost Cruiser’s Party Saturday night.  About 600 people started the party.  There were 5 kegs of Heineken Light donated by Heineken to start the party right, and then we had 150 pizzas from Papa Geno’s arrive about 6:30 to help feed the happy throng.

The band for this event was the Triad Island Band and they rocked from start to finish!  Probably the most fun part was the conga line, which started with 3-4 ladies, and ended up being half the people at the party!  It was hot, hot, hot!

The raffle was held with proceeds going to the Educational Tallship Foundation who re building the 134 foot Mathew Turner for teaching new sailors the art of seamanship.  Grand Prize was a 1 week charter in Guadeloupe won by Ken Scott.  The Winchrite electric winch handle went to Elain Sigel, and the CopperCoat bottom system was won by Richard Sheridan.

There were dozens of other prizes, and the evening was a great success.

It was kinda funny, as the free beer ran out the party numbers dropped to about 300 (there was still beer, but it was on sale!) .  When the free pizza ran out the party dropped to about 150.  When the last prize was handed out a dozen die-hards hung in, and had more fun than should be allowed.

In all it was a fun evening, and we are looking forward to next years event.
