As of 9 PM Wednesday evening, powerful Hurricane IRMA will maintain its severe intensity and will not change much; perhaps a slight decrease in core winds as the storm center will interface the north coast of the Dominican Republic and Cuba on Thursday & Friday. However, it will still be an EXTREME Hurricane! The storm’s track is in a stable WNW steering current and will remains so for the next 24-hours. After that, look for IRMA to slow down and begin a turn to a more NW to northerly track. The threat of direct hurricane impacts in Florida over the weekend and early next week has significantly increased!!
