Saturday February 16th at 6:30 about 250 cruiserās gathered to celebrate the cruising lifestyle with many of the exhibitors at the show. There were piles of 1/2 pound burgers, cheeseburgers and pressed chicken or veggie sandwiches, along with chips, and of course plenty of free beer!
The event was broadcast LIVE on Pyrate Radio, hosted by popular disc-jockey Barbarossa and Cruising Outpostās founder Bob Bitchin.
Isabella Stefania opened the show, with some of her new songs from her second album out of Florida via Nashville. Then Eric Stone took the stage with guitarist Eric Ellis, who plays in a great local ZZ Top cover band.
There was raffle with the proceeds going to the Educational Tall-ship Foundation, and the grand prize was a week long charter in the British Virgin Islands from the folks at Sunsail, who were one of our original partners in these cruising parties over 20 years ago!
There was plenty of food, drink and camaraderie and it was a perfect evening in Miami, with temperatures in the low 80ās, and the sky clear and full of stars.
The party ended with The Eric Stone Band playing their great rendition of Southern Cross, followed by some good old rock & roll!
The party was a big success, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
Thanks to all the great sponsors who helped make this possible, we could not do it without their help!
