Sail Caribbean Divers

Not Your Average Dive Shop

Founded in 1999, Sail Caribbean Divers is a year-round dive operation based in the British Virgin Islands, offering high-quality scuba experiences for both visitors and students. As a PADI 5-Star facility, their experienced team has guided thousands of divers through the region’s most iconic reefs and historic wreck sites, creating safe, memorable, and educational underwater adventures.

From the beginning, founder Mike Liese envisioned more than just exceptional diving. His goal was to build a program that combined world-class instruction with strong connections to the local community and marine environment. That vision continues today under the leadership of General Manager Jason Hart, who has been with the company for 11 years. The expert team of divers, photographers, and ocean conservationists brings a well-rounded experience to all visitors.

One of the most iconic dive sites in the region is the RMS Rhone, a legendary wreck that sank in 1867 and is now considered one of the Caribbean’s premier dive locations. The team at Sail Caribbean Divers knows these waters intimately and often encounters familiar marine life along the way. The waters of the BVI provide a protected habitat for stingrays, sea turtles, and reef sharks, with strong conservation regulations in place to help ensure these species—and the surrounding ecosystem—continue to thrive.

Ginger Steps, a well-known dive spot off Ginger Island, and Santa Monica, just off Norman Island, are two favorite locations for divers hoping to encounter these remarkable animals. With dramatic underwater landscapes and abundant marine life, both areas offer excellent opportunities to observe them in their natural habitat.
